Our Impact – 10 Years and 30,000 Bags Distributed
In 2013, our first year of service, just 19 Bag of Hope orders were filled – bags filled with 7-10 days worth of clothing and basic hygiene items to community members in crisis. Fast forward to 2021 and that number had grown to 5,159 bags in a single year. In 2022 however the demand for our services grew by 80% in just one year to an incredible 9,424 bags distributed.  Since 2013 we have given out 30,000 Bags of Hope to neighbors in need. In 2023 we are projected to distribute more Bags of Hope than any previous year. 

Our Need – A New Home by September 2023
Sharia’s Closet has experienced unprecedented growth while continuing to operate and serve the community out of the same modest facility.  We need a larger space to serve our clients and to prepare for continued growth in the coming years.  Our ideal new home should be:

·       3,000 – 5,000 square feet multi-purpose space that includes office space for volunteers and staff, storage space for inventory of clothing, lobby to greet clients and distribute Bags of Hope

·       Located in central San Diego along or near a bus route and have plenty of free parking

·       A 2–5+ year lease at a discounted rate or fully donated

·       Available for move in by September 2023
